Barunste Peak is a mountain in the Khumbu region of Eastern Nepal, whose four ridges are surrounded by immensely famous mountains: Mt.Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Chamlang, AmaDablam and Mera. It is symmetrical in feature and is usually climbed via the South ridge. It is also bounded on the south by the Hunku Glacier, on the east by the Barun Glacier, and on the north-west by the Imja Glacier. Baruntse was first climbed in 1954 by Collin Todd and Geoff Harrow of a New Zealand expedition.
