Located in the west-central part of Nepal, the journey around the legendary mountains of this area is both enjoyable and tough.Opened for trekking only in 1991, it provides spectacular beauty along the border of Nepal and Tibet/China.It is located in west central part of Nepal. Manaslu, the eighth highest mountain in the world, lies here. Manaslu is also called “Mountain of the Spirit”. Manaslu was first climbed on May 9, 1956 by Toshio Imanishi and GyalzenNorbu, members of a Japanese expedition. It then came to be known as the Japanese Mountain.
Manaslu round encompasses two significant National parks of Nepal: Manaslu Conservation Area and Annapurna Conservation Area. It offers a diverse range of ecosystems and ethnic cultures, and a trail that puts us closer to Tibet than any other treks in Nepal. You can also enjoy a culturally enchanting homestay with the Tamangs, the original horse traders of Nepal. The more adventurous ones can endeavor higher for a ‘walk in the clouds’ above TiruDanda, from where gorgeous views stretch from the Annapurnas to Ganesh Himal. Manaslu lies in the north of the historic fortress town of Gorkha, the place from where the last kings of Nepal ventured forth to conquer the rest of the country in the 18th Century. The Tsum Valley trek has beautiful views of the four 7000m peaks of the Ganesh massif and diverse wildlife. You may be lucky to catch a glimpse of the shy red panda.
